Continuous Improvement Manager

Fast Paced Manufacturer

Scunthorpe

We are looking to hire a driven Continuous Improvement professional to drive improvement strategy within a fast-paced Batch Plant supporting a local OEM.

My client is a leading Global T1 Automotive Manufacturer Manufacturers operating in 11 EU countries with over 35 plants. They are looking for a Continuous Improvement Manager to apply, train, coach and drive the Improvement strategy and tools across all areas of the site.

Key Responsibilities:

•Apply, train, coach Six Sigma strategies and tools across all areas of the site

•Driving the Lean Methodology and culture of Continuous Improvement into the business

•Coordination of Continuous Improvement Activities (Kaizen / Lean Manufacturing / IPS - Operational Excellence)

•Supporting plant to attain and exceed their CI savings targets

•Developing cost savings plans in plant through the application of practical solutions and CI / Lean tools to reduce and eliminate waste

•Definition and implementation of training needs for Continuous Improvement

•Responsible for Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma and the implementation of Operational Excellence process (IPS) for the plant

•Works with the Plant Team to identify CI projects and implement CI roadmap savings

•Responsible for the progress and completion of CI projects, including any follow up activities.

•Provide technical support in the implementation of the CI Strategy.

•Mentor peers and middle management in the formulation and execution of process improvement projects.

•Drive cross-functional process improvement teams.

•Discover internal and external (i.e. suppliers and customers) application opportunities for CI and the elimination of waste.

•In conjunction with the plant, develop action plans and monitor progress of CI Roadmap projects

•Teach Kaizen and Lean Expert Classes, as well as conduct Executive Overviews on continuous Improvement.

•Coach local personnel through one-on-one support

•Disseminate new strategies and tools via training, workshops, case studies, courses.

•Help to develop and support the plant's improvement plan: detect weak points and risk in plans, support project selection and project mentoring and support plants on customer visits for Lean Manufacturing reviews.

•Maintain the site lay-outs and process flows

•Drive the application of CI best practices across the company

•Influence the organization by promoting the use of the lean methodologies and tools.

•Identify and execute Kaizen roadmap targets

•Strive to achieve IPS Gold Standard on site

•Ensure site data is uploaded to Corporate I-Nexus system on a timely manner

•Ensure all site data is submitted to Central CI as required

QualificationsQualified Six Sigma Black Belt

ExperienceWorking knowledge of a fast paced Manufacturing industry preferably in a hands-on CI centric role

Proven track record of using CI techniques successfully within a manufacturing environment

Demonstrable experience of managing teams or individuals throughPrevious Operations based role within Manufacturing CI projects

Experience of managing a diverse team

Excellent Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills

Able to present subjects and new concepts to all levels of the business, either 1-2-1 or larger groups, using appropriate methodsA Training qualification or similar Teaching certificate
