FACTORS in Wales turned in the best regional performance in June, according to the latest figures from the Factoring Services Group.

Wales recorded a sales performance more than 10 per cent higher than June 2000, way above the average of 2.9 per cent up on June last year.
The first quarter of 2001 was 2.7 per cent higher than the same period in 2000. And the second quarter fared even better, up 3.2 per cent year on year.

Only two areas failed to improve on last year¹s monthly sales totals the south east 1.5 per cent down and Ireland 12.3 per cent behind.
The year to date figures show all regions are averaging a higher volume of sales than last year, with the worst total being the north west, only 0.5 per cent up, followed by the north east on 0.7 per cent.
Northern Ireland tops the table on 7.8 per cent more sales than the first half of 2000, with the south west and Scotland second and third on 6.2 and 5.9 per cent respectively.
